Pretend to be a pigeon and Smart Suitcases.

Here’s two unrelated pieces of technology which caught my eye today.

Smart suitcase

Ideactionary are developing a suitcase, The Hop, which connects to your smartphone and follows you around.

Using bluetooth receivers to triangulate your position and caterpillar tracks to move, the case monitors your location follows your movements and alerts you if you get out of range.

Pretend to be a Pigeon

The bright spark researchers at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis have combined the Google Earth flight simulator with a Microsoft Kinect motion controller to enable a person to fly around London using bird movements.

Flap your arms to go higher, drop them to dive down and twist to the side to turn.

The work is part of their project “to use innovative new methods to communicate the city as a data feed”
